I fired my experimental buttons yesterday.
It is so cool to go from ugly clay, to plain bisque then ugly glaze to pretty kiln presents!
Anyone who opens a kiln in anticipation knows what I mean.
That moment of discovery is like Christmas morning to a wee child!
I admit to peeking while it's still hot too! That is like sneaking and unwrapping the presents!
And Mikey likes them too!
I know I will never be caught up on everything. There is always a room needing vaccuuming, yard work to do, a project to finish, but I am trying to be more active in getting things done lately. One of those things on my list is to photograph finished projects, whether I am happy with them or not. By doing this, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. It makes me feel like I am productive. Feeling unproductive and uninspired is never good for anyone!
Here are a few finished projects from a pottery class I took over the summer at the Lawrence Art Center.
All are stoneware cone 6 clay.
Some are handformed and a few are done on the wheel. I suck! lol But I loved every minute!
This is my favorite. A red bird.
